Chief Technical Officer
Serving as the Chief Technical Officer, David King reports to AEgis Technologies’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Steve Hill. Mr. King oversees the activities of the VP, Simulation Development, VP Business Development, VP Nano Technologies, Director, Orlando Operations and their respective teams, which are located at AEgis’ corporate headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama and Orlando, Florida office. Under David’s direction, the focus of the Simulation and Technology Solutions Division is:
- To provide customers with innovative, world-class training solutions that enhances their ability to safely and efficiently perform their mission.
- Develop practical training solutions to operational requirements in the following areas: Small Robotic UAS/UGV Training Devices, Upgrades and Refurbishment of Large Full Motion Training devices, Geospatial and 3D Model development, Mobile Application development and Gaming development.
- Deliver innovative nanotechnology solutions, including those for communication, sensor, imaging, and advanced medical applications. These developments are not only based on new technologies and materials, but also on novel physics and theoretical concepts, requiring multiphysics simulation integrating novel transport effects, electromagnetic and quantum mechanics.
In October 2005, David joined AEgis Technologies as Director of the Simulation Development Group. During that time, David helped formulate the direction of AEgis’ software development efforts to ensure maximum reusability, thereby speeding ongoing development while reducing costs. His focus is technology transfer to commercial products and product development. The SimDev Group develops an Image Generator which is fielded on more than 3700 UAS training systems, has developed an extensive library of vehicle and human models and hundreds of venues and cities around the globe.
With more than 20 years in the Modeling, Simulation, and Training industry – and having served in product design and development, technology advancement, project management, and leadership positions. He is a recognized leader and innovator in the MS&T industry, having co-founded, matured and sold a two-man start-up company into a highly-successful 67-person small business (CG2, Inc.) in just seven years with no outside venture capital or investments. In addition to being recognized locally as an “Outstanding Small Business” for three consecutive years by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
Before co-founding CG2, David spent eight years in the US Army in missile-related fields. He worked for Electronic Associates Inc. and later AMTEC Corporation at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL, on a wide range of projects including the Sensor Vision III Real-Time IR Scene Generator, JAVELIN, STINGER, CHAPARRAL BAT, AIT, and THAAD HWIL simulations.
