Vice President, Simulation Development
In his role as Vice President of the Simulation Development Group, Mr. McDaniel provides executive direction to the multidisciplinary teams of engineers and computer scientists. The Simulation Development Group is focused in four significant areas of expertise and business areas: (1) Manned and Unmanned systems simulation and embedded training, (2) Geospatial, terrain databases and 3D Modeling, (3) Gaming Technology and (4) Product Management. Mr. McDaniel has more than 30 years of experience in U.S. Army acquisition programs and more than 20 years of experience in Program Management. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Mr. McDaniel is a graduate of the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Program Managers Course (PMT-401). He is a charter member of the Certified Modeling and Simulation Professional (CMSP) program. Since 1979, he has spent most of his professional career in developing and managing M&S technologies.
Prior to AEgis, Mr. McDaniel worked for several Huntsville based companies providing support to the Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) System, Simulation and Development Directorate (SS&DD), NASA and DAU. Mr. McDaniel was the Class IV Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program Manager for the Future Combat System (FCS) program.
Mr. McDaniel and his wife Donna have two children, Matt and Kristin. Matt, an Auburn graduate with a BS in Computer Science, is married and lives in Huntsville with his wife Katy Jo. Kristin graduated from Huntingdon College with BA in Business. She now works for Huntingdon College in the Alumni Office. Mr. McDaniel enjoys golf, hiking, tennis and reading.
