Vice President, Eastern Operations
Mr Swenson is a serial entrepreneur, Modeling and Simulation evangelist and the Vice President of Eastern Operations. Mr. Swenson leads a high-performing team of engineers and scientists stretching the art-of–the-possible for Modeling and Simulation and Human Systems Integration. Group foci include military training, warfare analysis, anti-submarine warfare, healthcare, business and corporate modeling and simulation strategy. Eastern Operations is a barrierless enterprise spread throughout the eastern United States with offices in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Virginia (Arlington and Norfolk), Florida and other forward-leaning thinkers in Georgia, Alabama and Colorado.
Prior to joining AEgis, Mr. Swenson was the Chief Technical Officer of a high-tech start-up applying revolutionary solutions to the command and control of unmanned undersea systems. Mr. Swenson has 20 years experience as a civil servant for the U.S. Navy occupying several critical roles in DoD’s Modeling and Simulation core. He was the Deputy Director, Strategic Initiatives for the Defense Modeling and Simulation Office. He was Chief Engineer for the Undersea Engineering Project Office where he helped stand-up the Congressionally-mandated Submarine Design Improvement Process. He worked in the office of the Chief of Naval Operations. And he was one of the principal developers of the Navy’s premiere hardware-in-the-loop weapon simulator.
Mr Swenson is currently the President and Conference Committee Chair of the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO) and the President and Founder of the New England Modeling and Simulation Consortium. Mr. Swenson has been published in several technical areas including real-time modeling of acoustic propagation, validation of hardware, distributed simulation systems, and modeling and simulation standards development. He is a member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the IEEE Standards Agency, and the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO). He is the recipient of the Meritorious Civilian Service Award.
